Sports Injuries

We have extensive formal training and expertise in sports medicine and are uniquely positioned to offer the highest possible care and assistance to athletes and physically active people. We regularly treat muscle, ligament, tendon and joint problems and also assist in improving performance and preventing a number of chronic conditions.

90% of sports related injuries don’t require surgery, which is why we have diagnosed and treated thousands of people with sporting injuries. By beginning treatment immediately after your injury, you can prevent further damage and promote a faster recovery. We work as part of a team, and if you require something further – scans, injections, surgery – we can swiftly refer you to one of our colleagues for further examination or investigations such as MRI scan, X-ray, Ultrasound, etc. Typical conditions treated are broken into two categories, acute and chronic:
Regaining strength and control

Neurological Rehabilitation

Neurological rehabilitation is a doctor-supervised program designed for people with diseases, injury, or disorders of the nervous system. We provide care for children with cerebral palsy, people with multiple sclerosis, patients of mature age with strokes and brain injuries, elderly patients with Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders. Rehabilitation involves managing movement dysfunctions by relearning normal movement patterns, thereby allowing you to regain mobility and function.
Care before and after surgery.

Pre- and Post-Surgery Rehabilitation

Pre-operative rehabilitation helps you be as well-conditioned as possible before surgery to enhance your post-operative recovery. Moreover, you will understand the therapy routine that will be in place after surgery.
Because of the months of pain and reduced activity leading up to surgery, muscles become weaker, and walking, balance and exercise tolerance deteriorate. We recommend that you take part in a specifically prescribed rehab program prior to surgery to increase muscle strength and reduce the chance that you will require extended inpatient rehabilitation prior to being discharged home after surgery. We have realised fantastic results with patients undergoing preoperative physiotherapy in direct comparison to those with the same conditions that did not undertake pre-op physiotherapy.
Relief, Detoxification, and Regeneration

Manual lymphatic drainage

With the help of special lymphatic drainage palpations, the lymph nodes are relaxed and the lymph flow is supported and directed. Thanks to this gentle technique, waste substances, interstitial fluid and swelling in the lymphatic system in the subcutaneous layer are flushed out faster. This therapy accelerates healing and tissue regeneration whether after sports performance, surgery or injury and has an analgesic, soothing effect on the whole body.

The use of manual lymphatic drainage is wide ranging from general detoxification and cleansing of the body, to reduction of swelling caused by primary lymphedema or as a result of injuries or surgery. Lymphatic drainage also strengthens the immune system, helps in weight loss efforts, reduces cellulite, improves skin quality and has an anti-aging effect. It is also indicated for the prevention of varicose veins, strengthens the walls of blood vessels and relieves the feeling of heavy legs.
Movement and pelvic floor care

Urogynecological rehabilitation

Targeted manipulation of the musculoskeletal system can adjust, alleviate, or completely eliminate some gynecological and urological issues. Non-invasive techniques can influence muscle tension, prevent joint blockages, correct posture, and improve breathing patterns, which leads to better circulation and the function of abdominal organs and the pelvic floor. The specific form of therapy then varies depending on the actual diagnosis.

We work with clients who are dealing with unwanted urinary incontinence or pain in the coccyx, pubic, or sacral areas. We also focus on women who are struggling to conceive, suffering from endometriosis, painful menstruation, or discomfort during intercourse. We address various musculoskeletal issues during pregnancy and after childbirth, and you can also turn to us for care of scars after a cesarean section or episiotomy. Physiotherapy has a place both in treatment and prevention. Among other things, it increases the likelihood of natural conception, a smooth pregnancy, and childbirth.
